Senior Solutions Engineer

Job Summary

5nine Software is seeking a Senior Solutions Engineer to be a primary technical resource for the Sales team covering EMEA and APAC regions. You will be responsible for actively driving and managing the technology evaluation stage of the sales process, working in conjunction with the sales team as the key technical advisor and advocate for our products and services.

The Solutions Engineer must be able to answer technical questions from customers regarding 5nine technologies, features, solutions, applications as well as articulate 5nine technology and product positioning to both business and technical users. You must be able to identify all technical issues of your assigned accounts to assure complete customer satisfaction through all stages of the sales process, and you must be able to establish and maintain strong relationships throughout the sales cycle with our customer’s technical staff.   

The ideal candidate will be responsible for the following duties: 

  • Demonstrate 5nine products and services to customers on site, remotely via webinar sessions, and at field events such as conferences and trade shows 
  • Develop long-term relationships with clients, through managing and interpreting their requirements 
  • Support marketing activities by attending trade shows, conferences, webinars, demos, blogs, and creating technical content 
  • Constantly grow professional skills and knowledge of 5nine and competitive products 
  • Provide technical support to customers during the product evaluation period 
  • General support of sales team from a technical aspect to drive team-based selling 
  • Travel within the region of responsibility to visit prospects and customers, as needed 
  •  Support pre & post sales issues including but not limited to 
  • Validating and supporting agreed upon ‘proof of concept’ prospects 
  • Providing written & oral instructions for the products   
  • Recommending best practices for different customers’ environments 
  • Supporting/training partners and customers 

The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline 
  • Minimum 3 years in pre-sales engineer role, or relevant experience in selling and supporting software products to enterprise organizations 
  • Deep Microsoft Hyper-V platform knowledge 
  • Experience with operation and administration of Windows Server 2016, 2012 R2, 2012 
  • Microsoft System Center (especially Virtual Machine Manager) or vCenter knowledge 
  • Microsoft SQL Server knowledge 
  • Good understanding of datacenter architecture, servers, networking hardware, storage, IT management products, and services 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills 
  • The ability to explain technical solutions and concepts to non-technical people 
  • Strong presentation skills  
  • Preferred qualifications include experience with security solutions, Azure, AWS, VDI solutions, VMware, other virtualization platforms, OpenStack, or Linux
