#2: Backup, Recovery and Monitoring: Maintain High Availability and Performance While Mitigating the Risk of Downtime and Data Loss
SCVMM does not provide native backup or recovery capabilities, including Hyper-V replica support. For backup and recovery, SCVMM must be integrated with System Center Data Protection Manager (SCDPM). VM templates, however, can be used to save the configuration state of a virtual machine, but not the data within.
